Article 1 – Nature of the Platform
1.1 TREE NEWS is a vertical media outlet covering the crypto, blockchain and Web3 industry for Chinese- and English-speaking readers worldwide. It provides news, industry news flashes, articles and columns, global event information and community features.
1.2 The Platform is not a provider, intermediary or information service for securities, futures, funds or other financial services, nor is it a virtual currency exchange, wallet provider or payment institution. The Platform does not engage in securities investment advisory, asset management, discretionary trading, virtual currency trade matching, token issuance financing or derivatives trading.
1.3 Platform content (including AI-assisted content) is presented solely as information and news reporting. It does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation or approval of any project, product, organisation or individual.
Article 2 – No investment advice; no financial services
2.1 Any mention, display or description of a coin, project, token, protocol, chain, platform, index, price or market data in Platform content does not constitute:
- investment advice, investment analysis or a promise of returns regarding any security, futures contract, fund, foreign exchange or other financial product;
- an offer, or a solicitation of an offer, to buy, sell, hold or trade any virtual currency, digital asset or other financial instrument;
- legal, tax, accounting or financial advice.
2.2 Under the Notice on Further Preventing and Handling Risks of Speculation in Virtual Currency Trading issued by the People's Bank of China and nine other authorities (Yin Fa [2021] No. 237): virtual currencies do not have the same legal status as fiat currency and must not circulate as money; virtual-currency-related business activities are illegal financial activities in mainland China; and the provision of services to residents of mainland China by overseas virtual currency exchanges via the internet is likewise an illegal financial activity.
2.3 The Platform does not provide, participate in or facilitate any virtual currency exchange, trade matching, token issuance financing or virtual currency derivatives trading; does not provide related pricing or information intermediary services; and does not conduct any form of virtual currency marketing, promotion or paid referral. The Platform reports on such matters solely as news and information.
2.4 Readers must at all times exercise independent judgement, make their own decisions and bear their own risk. Nothing on the Platform creates a fiduciary, advisory or client relationship between the Platform and any reader. For readers in the United States, nothing on the Platform constitutes an offer to sell or a solicitation of an offer to buy any security or other financial instrument.
Article 3 – Virtual currency and digital asset risk warning
3.1 Investments involving virtual currencies, digital assets and blockchain carry extremely high risk, including but not limited to: severe price volatility, liquidity and market manipulation, project failure and abandonment, hacking and theft of assets, changes in law and policy, regulatory penalties and compliance risk.
3.2 The Platform gives no express or implied guarantee or forecast of the value, price movement or return of any digital asset. Past performance is not indicative of future results.
3.3 Readers who take part in any digital-asset-related activity must verify project information and assess risk themselves and comply with the laws of their own jurisdiction. Any loss arising from such activity is unrelated to the Platform.
Article 4 – AI-generated content and labelling
4.1 The Platform produces content through a "source collection + AI-assisted processing + human review and publication" workflow. Where AI generation or synthesis tools are used, the Platform adds an explicit label (such as "AI-assisted editing") and implicit metadata labels in accordance with the Measures for Labelling AI-Generated and Synthetic Content (Guo Xin Ban Tong Zi [2025] No. 2) and the mandatory national standard GB 45438-2025.
4.2 AI-generated content may contain factual errors, bias or omissions. Although the Platform maintains a human review step, oversights cannot be ruled out. The Platform accepts no liability for any decision or action taken in reliance on AI-generated content, except where the law provides otherwise.
4.3 When republishing or quoting labelled content, readers must not remove, alter, forge or conceal the AI labels.
Article 5 – Market data and third-party data
5.1 Prices, market capitalisations, percentage changes, trading volumes and other market data displayed on the Platform are generally supplied by third-party data providers and may differ from the actual market because of data source, time zone, methodology, latency or technical failure.
5.2 The Platform gives no express or implied warranty as to the accuracy, completeness, timeliness or fitness of any data. Readers should rely on official or exchange data.
Article 6 – Third-party opinions, comments and user content
6.1 Views of guests, analysts and interviewees in Platform articles and columns are their own or those of their organisations and do not represent the position of the Platform.
6.2 User comments, submissions and other user-generated content are published by users themselves. The Platform performs content moderation and "notice-and-takedown" obligations as required by law but does not guarantee the truthfulness, accuracy or legality of user content. Disputes arising from user content are the responsibility of the user who published it.
6.3 The Platform accepts no warranty liability beyond moderation for investment-advice-like statements in user content and reserves the right to take action against content that breaches its rules.
Article 7 – External links and third-party services
7.1 Platform content may contain links to third-party websites, apps or services (such as source articles, event registration pages or project websites). These links are provided for readers' convenience only. The content, accuracy, security, availability and privacy practices of third-party sites are the responsibility of those third parties.
7.2 Readers follow external links at their own risk. The Platform accepts no liability for any loss arising from third-party websites or services.
Article 8 – Event information
8.1 Conference, roadshow, summit and other event information in the Platform's "Events" section is supplied by organisers or compiled from public channels. The Platform gives no guarantee as to the organiser's credentials, the agenda, speakers, venue, the security of registration links or the quality of the event.
8.2 Event dates, venues and agendas may change or be cancelled. Readers should verify the latest information before registering and decide for themselves whether to attend. Disputes and losses arising from an event or its registration are to be resolved between the reader and the organiser; the Platform will provide necessary assistance as required by law.
Article 9 – Translation and language differences
9.1 The Chinese-language and English-language sites of the Platform are edited and published independently. Translated versions may differ because of language conventions, terminology or publication timing. Unless otherwise stated, the original text in the language edition the reader is using prevails.
9.2 Where translation creates ambiguity in bilingual content, the source-language version and the original source prevail.
Article 10 – Limitation of liability
10.1 To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Platform is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or punitive loss arising from the use of or reliance on Platform content, including but not limited to loss of profit, loss of data, damage to goodwill or loss of opportunity.
10.2 The Platform is not liable for service interruption, delay, error or data loss caused by force majeure, technical failure, network outage, third parties or any cause not attributable to the Platform's fault.
10.3 Nothing in this Article excludes or limits any mandatory liability that cannot be excluded by agreement under applicable law, including liability for damage caused by the Platform's wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
Article 11 – Governing law and disputes
11.1 The formation, validity, interpretation and dispute resolution of this Disclaimer are governed by the law of the jurisdiction in which the Platform's operator is located, namely the law of the People's Republic of China. For users in the European Union, the United States, Singapore, Hong Kong and other jurisdictions outside mainland China, mandatory provisions of the law of their own jurisdiction prevail. For users in the European Union, this Disclaimer does not affect their statutory rights regarding financial promotions and consumer protection.
11.2 Disputes arising from this Disclaimer shall first be resolved through friendly negotiation. Failing that, they shall be submitted to the competent people's court in the jurisdiction in which the Platform's operator is located.
11.3 This Disclaimer is published in Chinese and English. In the event of any inconsistency between the two versions, the Chinese version prevails.
Article 12 – Effect and amendment
12.1 This Disclaimer takes effect on publication and applies to content published before that date.
12.2 The Platform may amend this Disclaimer in accordance with law. Amended text will be published in a prominent place on the Platform with an updated version number.
