Bitcoin Spot ETFs Log 6th Straight Day of Inflows at $191M as Ethereum Funds Add $66M

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs pulled in $191 million on September 24, extending a six-day inflow streak, while spot Ethereum ETFs added $66.01 million. The sustained flows point to returning institutional demand after a choppy summer.

Bitcoin ETFs Extend Inflow Streak to Six Sessions

U.S. spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds attracted a combined $191 million in net inflows on September 24 (Eastern Time), marking a sixth consecutive session of positive flows. Spot Ethereum ETFs, meanwhile, recorded $66.01 million in net inflows over the same period.

The sustained buying stands in contrast to the volatile, choppy flow patterns that dominated much of the summer, when ETF demand repeatedly flipped between inflows and outflows on a near-daily basis. The current streak suggests a more durable bid is returning to the regulated crypto wrapper complex.

Why the Streak Matters

Consecutive inflow days are more than a headline number. They signal that allocators — from registered investment advisors to family offices and pension consultants — are steadily deploying capital rather than trading around short-term price swings. Because spot ETF creations require the underlying asset to be purchased and custodied, persistent inflows translate into measurable, mechanical buying pressure on Bitcoin and Ether.

  • Bitcoin: $191 million of net creations implies roughly a few thousand BTC absorbed into fund custody, depending on the day’s execution prices.
  • Ethereum: $66 million extends a quieter but steady recovery for ETH funds, which spent months lagging their Bitcoin counterparts after launch.

The divergence in scale between the two products — Bitcoin drawing nearly three times the daily inflow of Ethereum — reflects a persistent reality: institutional capital still treats BTC as the primary, most liquid and most easily underwritten crypto exposure, while ETH remains a second allocation for most mandates.

Ethereum’s Slow Institutional Catch-Up

Ethereum ETFs have historically struggled with a structural headwind: the Grayscale Ethereum Trust conversion created a large, fee-sensitive shareholder base that has been steadily exiting, masking underlying demand. As that overhang fades, the more recent positive prints are a cleaner read on genuine new money. A $66 million day is modest in absolute terms, but its consistency is the signal worth watching.

The staking question also looms. Most U.S. spot ETH ETFs cannot stake their holdings, leaving yield on the table — a competitive disadvantage that issuers continue to press regulators to resolve. Any movement on in-fund staking approval would materially change the economics of these products.

Forward-Looking View

If the streak holds, the immediate question is whether it becomes a trend that carries flows into quarter-end and beyond. Two catalysts bear watching: macroeconomic data that shapes rate expectations, and the broader risk appetite driving both equities and digital assets. Sustained inflows into both Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs would reinforce the narrative that crypto has been absorbed into mainstream portfolio construction — no longer a fringe trade, but a line item in diversified mandates.

For now, six straight days of Bitcoin inflows and a steady Ethereum bid suggest the institutional door is open again. The test is whether it stays that way.
