News Flash Disclaimer

Article 1 – Scope and nature of news flashes

1.1 These terms apply to the Platform's entire "News Flash" section and all news flash content, including but not limited to the website news feed, the app news flash page, news flash summaries attached to push notifications, image cards and republication through authorised third-party channels.

1.2 News flashes are intended to bring readers industry developments, market news and summaries of public information as quickly as possible. They are a rapid form of news reporting in which timeliness takes priority over completeness. News flashes are short and generally do not fully explain the background, risks or subsequent implications of an event.

1.3 News flashes may be produced through a "source collection + AI-assisted processing + human review and publication" workflow (see Article 4). They are for reference only, do not constitute professional advice of any kind, and do not represent an endorsement by the Platform of any entity, project or product.

Article 2 – No investment advice

2.1 Any mention, display or description of a coin, project, token, protocol, chain, trading platform, index, price or market data in a news flash is news reporting and information presentation only and does not constitute:

  1. investment advice, investment analysis or a promise of returns regarding any security, futures contract, fund, foreign exchange or other financial product;
  2. an offer, or a solicitation of an offer, to buy, sell, hold or trade any virtual currency, digital asset or other financial instrument;
  3. legal, tax, accounting or financial advice.

2.2 Under the Notice on Further Preventing and Handling Risks of Speculation in Virtual Currency Trading issued by the People's Bank of China and nine other authorities (Yin Fa [2021] No. 237), virtual currencies do not have the same legal status as fiat currency, and virtual-currency-related business activities are illegal financial activities in mainland China. The Platform does not provide, participate in or facilitate any virtual currency exchange, trade matching, token issuance financing or virtual currency derivatives trading, nor does it provide related pricing or information intermediary services. Platform reporting does not constitute marketing, promotion or paid referral for any virtual currency business.

2.3 Readers must at all times exercise independent judgement, make their own decisions and bear their own risk. The Platform accepts no liability for any loss arising from a decision made in reliance on a news flash. Nothing in a news flash creates a fiduciary or advisory relationship, and for readers in the United States nothing in a news flash constitutes an offer to sell or a solicitation of an offer to buy any security.

Article 3 – Sources, timeliness and accuracy

3.1 News flashes are compiled from public channels, including licensed sources, public reporting, official announcements, project disclosures and community information. The Platform makes reasonable efforts to verify key facts, but given the time pressure of news flashes some information may not have been independently and fully verified by a third party and may contain errors, omissions, delays or inaccuracies.

3.2 Prices, market capitalisations, percentage changes and other market data in news flashes are generally supplied by third-party data providers and may differ from the actual market because of data source, time zone or methodology. The Platform gives no express or implied warranty as to their accuracy, completeness or real-time nature.

3.3 If a published news flash is found to contain an error, the Platform will issue a correction or erratum or update the original text, and will keep an editing record. Readers who find an error may request a correction under Article 8.

3.4 News flashes may be displayed differently depending on the licensing status of the source (own content / licensed republication / summary only). Where a source permits summary only, the Platform displays a summary with a link to the original and does not republish in full. Republication and quotation rules are set out in the Copyright & Reprints notice.

Article 4 – AI-assisted content and labelling

4.1 AI systems may assist in collecting, de-duplicating, summarising, translating, headlining, tagging and producing cards for news flashes, which are then reviewed by an editor before publication. Where AI generation or synthesis tools are used in production, the Platform adds a prominent label (such as "AI-assisted editing") to the content or interface and an implicit label in file metadata, in accordance with the Measures for Labelling AI-Generated and Synthetic Content (Guo Xin Ban Tong Zi [2025] No. 2) and the mandatory national standard GB 45438-2025 (Cybersecurity technology – Labelling method for content generated by artificial intelligence).

4.2 These labels inform readers of the production method. They do not change the news nature of the flash and do not represent a guarantee by the Platform of its accuracy. AI-generated content may contain factual errors; the Platform maintains a human review step but oversights cannot be ruled out.

4.3 Users and third parties who republish or quote labelled news flashes must not remove, alter, forge or conceal the labels. Users who post content containing AI-generated or synthetic elements on the Platform must declare this and use the labelling feature provided by the Platform.

Article 5 – Translation and language differences

5.1 The Chinese-language and English-language sites of the Platform are edited and published independently. Translated versions may differ because of language conventions, terminology or publication timing. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Chinese-language content is authoritative in Chinese and English-language content is authoritative in English; where they differ, the original text in the language edition the reader is using prevails.

5.2 Where translation of a bilingual news flash creates ambiguity, readers should rely on the source-language version and the original source.

Article 6 – Third-party content and external links

6.1 Copyright and other rights in third-party opinions, data, images and reports quoted in news flashes belong to their owners. Such material represents the views of the rights holder or source only and not the position of the Platform.

6.2 News flashes may contain links to third-party websites. The Platform is not responsible for the content, accuracy, security or availability of third-party sites, and readers follow such links at their own risk.

Article 7 – Intellectual property

7.1 Copyright in the text, image cards, layout and other elements of news flashes created by the Platform belongs to the Platform or the relevant rights holder. Republication and quotation rules are set out in the Copyright & Reprints notice.

7.2 Source attributions and links to the original in news flashes protect the attribution and traceability rights of the original rights holder and must be retained when republishing.

Article 8 – Corrections, complaints and reports

8.1 Readers may submit corrections, complaints or reports through the Corrections & Complaints page or by email to tree@treenews.cn. The Platform will verify and act within 5 business days and, where necessary, correct, take down or withdraw the news flash concerned.

8.2 Copyright and other infringement complaints are handled under the "notice-and-takedown" procedure in the Copyright & Reprints notice.

Article 9 – Relationship with other documents

9.1 These terms form part of the Disclaimer, Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Copyright & Reprints notice. In the event of conflict, the interpretation more favourable to the reader prevails. Matters not covered here are governed by those documents and applicable law.

Article 10 – Governing law and disputes

10.1 The formation, validity, interpretation and dispute resolution of these terms are governed by the law of the jurisdiction in which the Platform's operator is located, namely the law of the People's Republic of China. For users in the European Union, the United States and other jurisdictions outside mainland China, mandatory provisions of the law of their own jurisdiction prevail.

10.2 Disputes arising from these terms shall first be resolved through friendly negotiation. Failing that, they shall be submitted to the competent people's court in the jurisdiction in which the Platform's operator is located. Users outside mainland China may also assert their rights through the channels provided by the law of their own jurisdiction.

10.3 These terms are published in Chinese and English. In the event of any inconsistency between the two versions, the Chinese version prevails.

Article 11 – Effect and amendment

11.1 These terms take effect on publication and remain displayed alongside the News Flash section.

11.2 The Platform may amend these terms in response to changes in law, regulatory requirements or business needs. Amended terms will be published in a prominent place on the Platform with an updated version number and effective date.
