Every time an international conference week comes around, a city takes on a different rhythm of life.
Developers, founders, investors, and community members from different regions gather together within a few days. The daytime schedule is filled with talks, meetings, and project exchanges, while the night leaves room for conversations that haven’t yet come to an end.
People who usually discuss across time zones can finally sit down face to face; opinions you’ve read in articles can be put directly to the person who raised them; and an idea that isn’t fully formed yet may find a new direction through conversation.
From 19:00 to 24:00 on October 7, 2026, Tree News and Cointime will co-host the “THE POP-UP CITY” AfterParty in Singapore.
As a Side Event during TOKEN2049 Singapore Week, this event will be held at Fate by HaveFun (Cineleisure), with Moolah and NodeX as Diamond Main Sponsors and HTX DAO as Honorary Co-organizer.
We hope to use one evening to provide a shared location for encounters during the conference week, so that conversations not yet unfolded during the day can continue here.

A “Pop-Up City” Formed by Encounters
The name “Pop-Up City” comes from a special experience during international conference weeks.
In just a few days, people from different cities, speaking different languages and with different professional backgrounds come to the same place because of an industry they all follow. Conference venues, hotel lobbies, cafes, and nighttime gatherings become temporary nodes of exchange, piecing together a city map that belongs to this period of time.
Everyone arrives with their own questions.
Some are looking for the next batch of users for their product, some want to understand the real progress of a technical direction, some bring research and judgment, and others simply want to meet friends they’ve known online for a long time.
These purposes differ, yet they give the exchange a concrete starting point.
Through “Pop-Up City,” Tree News and Cointime hope to set aside a relatively complete stretch of time for such encounters. It gives guests the chance to introduce what they are working on, and to genuinely listen to what problems the other person is solving.
A temporarily formed city can begin with one evening of gathering. And the connections built within it have the chance to continue after the conference week ends.
Carry the Daytime Topics into the Night
The TOKEN2049 schedule is often tight. Just as a conversation gets going, the next session is already starting; and a question worth pursuing may be left half-finished because time is limited.
The AfterParty offers another rhythm for these conversations.
At “Pop-Up City,” you can invite peers you just met during the day and continue the topics you haven’t finished; or you can temporarily set aside the dense schedule and meet people who weren’t originally in your plans.
Talk about products, technology, market changes, and also the attempts and trade-offs in specific work. A problem one developer encounters may be exactly the direction another team is researching; and experience from a different market may bring new understanding to a familiar topic.

This event motto expresses two sides of the same commitment: throw yourself seriously into your work during the day, and also set aside time at night for conversation, gathering, and relaxation.

Tree News × Cointime: Bringing Connections from Content to the Scene
For media, the industry scene is always an important source of information.
An article can present a viewpoint, an interview can sort out experience, and face-to-face exchange gives people the chance to further understand the judgment behind a viewpoint, as well as details in practice that haven’t yet been fully discussed.
This time, Tree News and Cointime are bringing their collaboration to Singapore, hoping that through “Pop-Up City” they can connect industry participants from different backgrounds, letting the focus within content and real human exchange extend into each other.
Tree News continues to follow Web3, AI, and macro finance, and also connects reading with industry participation through news, columns, and event access. Meeting offline is a natural continuation of this work: getting to know people who are taking action, hearing concrete problems, and then bringing new understanding back into ongoing observation and exchange.
