TREE NEWS update: China’s Ministry of Public Security Traffic Management Bureau reported that on the fifth day of the National Day holiday, traffic volumes on national highways and major provincial roads remained at high levels but generally safe and smooth. Local traffic police deployed forces based on return-travel patterns, strengthened traffic control, cracked down on violations, and issued widespread safety reminders. Queues occurred only around large and medium cities and key scenic spots.
