TREE NEWS update: US President Donald Trump announced on the 6th a $6.6 billion investment to build a new shipyard at Sparrows Point, Maryland, producing submarines, submarine components and unmanned underwater vehicles. Trump said the yard will build the next generation of US submarines and manufacture key parts including unmanned underwater vehicles, torpedo tubes and components for Virginia-class attack submarines. The project is expected to create over 3,100 jobs in Maryland and 11,000 nationwide.
