Schumer says Democrats have won the Senate

The significance here is control of the chamber itself, which reshapes the legislative map Democrats will work with and sets up the delivery test Schumer himself named. The audience most affected is the party's own coalition, since the win was framed around voter trust that now has to be converted into legislation. What to watch is whether that promised delivery materializes and how Republicans respond to a result their leadership is said to have misread.
