China to Expand Basic Medical Insurance Coverage in 15th Five-Year Period

TREE NEWS update: China’s National Healthcare Security Administration said at a State Council Information Office press conference that during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, it will consolidate universal basic medical insurance, optimize participation structure, and expand coverage for flexible workers, migrant workers, and new employment forms. It will enhance maternity protection with direct settlement and allowance payments, and establish a comprehensive long-term care insurance system.
