TREE NEWS update: Panama Canal Authority will reduce daily ship transits from 36 to 34 starting September 3, and further to 32 from September 15, due to low water levels in the artificial lakes that supply the canal, caused by reduced rainfall from El Niño. The maximum draft for ships will also be lowered from 15.24 meters to 14.63 meters.
