TREE NEWS update: Tesla launched its Cybercab robotaxi service in Austin on Sept 3, 2026, with the first public passengers riding that day. The two-seat vehicle, priced at $25,000, has no steering wheel or pedals. Morgan Stanley estimates Tesla’s per-mile operating cost at $0.81, versus Waymo’s $1.43 and traditional ride-hailing’s $1.71. Tesla also opened a commercial purchase interest form for third-party fleet buyers.
