TREE NEWS update: The barrier lake above the core area of Gyirong Port has been drained, with river flow restored, and the danger basically lifted. Radar showed the dam averaged 60m high, about 1,100m long and 300m wide, with a lake area of 0.1 sq km and capacity of 2.2 million cubic meters. The catchment area 3.2km from the source has been largely emptied.
