TREE NEWS update: Italy’s National Research Council Institute for BioEconomy reported Sept. 7 that the average summer temperature in 2026 reached 24.3°C, the highest since records began in 1950. August was the warmest month, with a national average of 25.6°C, exceeding the 1951-1980 average by 5.2°C and the 1991-2020 average by 3.5°C. Monthly averages from January to August were all above the previous year.
