Six Chinese Ministries Launch Plan to Expand Basic Medical Insurance Coverage for Gig Workers

The plan aims to boost urban employee insurance participation, remove household registration restrictions in megacities, and allow monthly accumulation of contribution years. Policies also encourage converting continuous resident insurance years into employee insurance years.
