TREE NEWS update: Thailand plans to spend about 3.5 billion baht ($106.3 million) from government borrowing on a new domestic tourism stimulus, offering 1 million subsidized slots from November 1. Under the proposed “Thai Tiew Thai Plus” plan, tourists would receive a fixed 1,500 baht subsidy per hotel night, up to five nights per person, Tourism and Sports Minister Surasak Phancharoenworakul said.
