China’s National Day holiday box office tops 800 million yuan

The headline figure is less telling than the composition: three titles are carrying the entire holiday slate, which points to a concentrated release strategy rather than broad-based demand. Holiday box office is a useful read on discretionary consumer spending at a moment when that signal matters, so the mix of genres and how evenly the top three split the total is worth watching. Whether the leaders hold their share through the back half of the holiday, or fade once presales are exhausted, is the open question.
