TREE NEWS update: B.AI has officially integrated Qwen3.8-Flash, making its API fully free for all users. This move aims to enhance accessibility to advanced AI models on the platform.
Qwen3.8-Flash Launches on B.AI with Free API Access
AI take
The decision to offer Qwen3.8-Flash's API at no cost signals a strategic push to lower barriers for AI adoption on B.AI, potentially broadening its developer and enterprise base. For market observers, the play appears less about immediate revenue and more about capturing ecosystem share in a competitive AI infrastructure space. The key question is whether this free-tier strategy can sustain usage growth and translate into network effects, or if it merely commoditizes access without a clear monetization path. Watch whether B.AI expands free offerings to other models, which would indicate a deliberate market-share play rather than a one-off promotion.
