Hyperscale Data shuts Michigan Bitcoin mine, pivots to AI

Nasdaq-listed Hyperscale Data has shut down all Bitcoin miners at its Michigan data center to repurpose the site for AI compute. The company signed a 20MW master service agreement with an unnamed California cloud provider, expected to generate about $1.2 billion over 20 years, with a 32MW expansion option that could push total revenue above $3 billion. To fund the transition, it sold 830 BTC for roughly $53 million, retaining 275 BTC worth about $21.2 million. Hyperscale Data still operates about 10MW of Bitcoin mining capacity in Montana and is exploring an additional 125MW expansion.
