TREE NEWS update: At the 2026 Deep Space Exploration (Tiandu) International Conference on September 3, Hou Zengqian, chief scientist of the Tianwen-3 mission, said the primary scientific goal is to search for signs of potential life on Mars. The final landing site is expected to be confirmed by the end of 2026. Chinese scientists are also advancing the compilation of a new generation of global Martian geological maps.
