HK SFC Tightens Rules on Fund Investment in Private Products

Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) is intensifying scrutiny of fund investments in unlisted private products, requiring fund managers to clearly disclose risks. If such investments exceed half of the fund’s portfolio, they will be treated as ‘complex products’ under stricter regulation, aiming to prevent retail investors from buying products beyond their risk tolerance.
