Gold surges 3% as Fed’s Waller signals rate-hold support

Gold prices jumped 3% to $4,547.1 per ounce intraday, with spot gold up 2.5% at $4,498.02, while silver gained 3.5%. The moves came after Fed Governor Christopher Waller signaled he would support keeping rates unchanged if inflation continues to ease. US 10-year Treasury yields fell to 4.73% premarket, and Mischler’s Tom di Galoma said Waller’s comments gave the bond market relief.
