S&P 500 closes up 1%; consumer discretionary leads, energy lags

The S&P 500 provisionally closed up 1%, with consumer discretionary up 1.6% and financials, telecom, tech, and real estate each gaining over 1%, while energy fell 0.6%. The Nasdaq 100 rose 1.1%, led by Strategy up 17.4%, Palantir up 7.6%, and Tesla up 5.5%, with declines in Applovin, Western Digital, ASML, Broadcom, and Kraft Heinz.
