China: Long-Term Care Insurance Nationwide by End of 2028

TREE NEWS update: China’s National Healthcare Security Administration announced that by the end of 2028, the long-term care insurance system will be basically fully covered nationwide. The agency plans to expand coverage from employees to urban and rural residents, unify disability assessment standards, and promote mutual recognition of results across regions. Policies for异地 care and integration with existing subsidies for elderly and disabled individuals will be improved.
