US Treasury Secretary Bessent sees oil falling to $40 after Iran conflict

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Friday that once the Iran conflict ends, oil prices could plunge to $40 a barrel, easing recent multi-year highs in bond yields. In an interview with Steve Bannon, Bessent predicted a severe supply glut as new supply comes online, pushing crude possibly to $50 or even $40.
