TREE NEWS update: Peruvian President Keiko Fujimori announced on the 7th the creation of a joint military-police command to address the country’s worsening crime problem. Speaking at a ceremony at army headquarters in Lima, Fujimori said the new command will lead operations against crime and will be paired with a large operations center to coordinate all law enforcement actions.
