TREE NEWS update: China Coast Guard spokesperson Jiang Lue said the Philippines’ coast guard vessel 4409 entered waters near Second Thomas Shoal on Oct. 8 to transfer an injured person from a ship illegally grounded there. China allowed the transfer by small boat on humanitarian grounds, handled it in accordance with the law and provided necessary convenience. China said it has indisputable sovereignty over the Nansha Islands, including Second Thomas Shoal, and warned Manila to stop infringing on its rights and spreading false claims.
