TREE NEWS update: Russia’s consumer rights and public health watchdog said on the 7th that the epidemiological situation in Irkutsk region is stable and poses no health risk, and that preventive measures in the regional capital Irkutsk are being lifted. The region had reported a case of “unknown-origin pneumonia.” The watchdog said on the 6th that an ill employee of the Irkutsk anti-plague research institute had been diagnosed with that condition.
