TREE NEWS update: A magnitude 8.0 earthquake struck 14 km southwest of Pitalosa Arriba, Panama, the US Geological Survey said. Germany’s GFZ put the quake at magnitude 6.97. The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center warned the earthquake could trigger dangerous and widespread tsunami waves.
