Putin Envoy Dmitriev: Putin and Trump Just Completed a Successful Call

The signal here is less the call itself than the framing around it: an envoy volunteering energy-sector cooperation as a shared benefit, with no readout on timing or substance. That points to a diplomatic track where commercial energy interests, including diesel, are being positioned as the practical channel for broader Russian-American engagement. For energy and commodity markets, the question worth watching is whether this remains rhetoric or starts showing up in actual trade and supply flows. The absence of detail is itself the story.
