Trump: Jackdaw project approval is major good news for UK
AI take
Trump's endorsement lands squarely in a live UK policy debate over North Sea licensing, making the project a proxy for how London balances energy security against its climate commitments. The intervention is notable less for the project itself than for the external political pressure it signals, which could complicate the government's positioning either way. Whether the approval translates into a wider push on North Sea drilling, or remains a one-off, is the open question worth tracking.
