TREE NEWS update: China is advancing a new generation of full-Mars geological mapping, led by Tianwen-3 chief scientist Hou Zengqian, using AI-driven intelligent mapping and data from the Tianwen-1 mission. The project integrates multimodal data including imagery, spectral, radar, and gravity information. The first version of a 1:5,000,000 global Mars geological map is planned for completion by the end of 2028, marking the world’s first intelligent Mars geological map.
