TREE NEWS update: A ‘white hat’ hacker who exploited the Liquid Network has communicated with Blockstream via OP_RETURN messages and PGP-encrypted text, promising to return most of the bitcoin once the vulnerability is fixed. The hacker requested that all nodes be patched and confirmed before funds are returned. Galaxy Research head Alex Thorn reported the ongoing communication on September 7.
