China says Venezuela cooperation not subject to third-party interference

China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on September 7 that China-Venezuela cooperation is protected by international and domestic laws and should not be interfered with by third parties. Responding to a question about whether Venezuela had assured Beijing that Chinese oil interests would be unaffected by a new U.S.-Venezuela agreement, Mao stressed that China’s legitimate rights in Venezuela must be protected.
