OPCW Delegation Visits Japan’s Abandoned Chemical Weapons Sites in China

A delegation from the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) visited China from August 31 to September 5 to inspect facilities handling Japan’s abandoned chemical weapons. The delegation, including the OPCW Director-General and representatives from 12 countries, toured sites in Hunchun, Dunhua, and Haerbaling. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning briefed reporters on September 7.
