Chile copper exports hit one-year low in August despite price surge

Chile’s copper exports fell to their lowest monthly level since July 2025 in August, despite soaring prices, as severe winter storms and operational setbacks hit the world’s top producer. Central bank data released Monday showed export value at $4.62 billion, down 14% from July and 3.2% year-on-year. Meanwhile, average copper prices in August were over 40% higher than a year earlier.
