TREE NEWS update: On May 8, US Southern Command announced that Joint Task Force-Western Hemisphere (JTF-WHEM) intercepted a floating refueling station in the East Pacific that supported illegal drug trafficking. Intelligence linked the vessel to Ecuador’s Los Choneros drug trafficking organization. Personnel removed from the vessel were handed over to Ecuadorian authorities. After clearing the ship and disembarking the crew, the US military sank it.
