TREE NEWS update: China’s consumer price index (CPI) rose 0.8% year on year in August, rebounding from a 0.1% month-on-month decline in July to a 0.4% monthly increase, while core CPI (excluding food and energy) gained 1.0% year on year. Producer price index (PPI) climbed 3.8% year on year, with a monthly rise of 0.4% after a 0.7% drop in July. The statistics bureau attributed the moves to international price changes, seasonal food price increases, and domestic industrial upgrading.
