TREE NEWS update: The World Platinum Investment Council (WPIC) reported on September 9 that the platinum market recorded its second consecutive quarterly surplus of 8 tonnes in Q2, and updated its full-year forecast. Total supply was roughly flat year-on-year at 59 tonnes (+1%), while total demand fell 16% (-10 tonnes) to 52 tonnes. Platinum ETF outflows of 7 tonnes led to net investment holdings declining by 4 tonnes.
