TREE NEWS update: OCC Comptroller Jonathan Gould announced at the Wyoming Blockchain Symposium that the agency will publish final rules for the payment stablecoin act in November, following feedback on a February proposal. The GENIUS Act, signed into law in July 2025, is set to take effect in January 2027, with OCC expecting to process stablecoin issuer applications starting that year. Other agencies, including the Treasury and FDIC, must also complete their rules before the law’s effective date.
