TREE NEWS update: Algeria has announced it is severing diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), citing an escalation of “provocative and hostile acts” from the Gulf state. Algeria’s Foreign Ministry said it had exhausted “every possible means” to maintain the relationship. The UAE ambassador was formally notified the same day and ordered to leave the country within 48 hours.
