TREE NEWS update: Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said in a video statement on September 11 that the group launched a large-scale offensive on Yemen’s west coast from September 3, seizing six districts across Taiz and Hodeidah provinces covering 5,400 square kilometres. Saree said the operation targeted seven enemy divisions and 38 brigades, causing hundreds of casualties or captures, and that Houthi forces intercepted 32 Saudi warplane sorties and downed nine drones.
