China Adds 4,007 New Renewable Power Projects in August, Mostly Solar

The composition matters more than the headline number: the pipeline is overwhelmingly commercial and industrial distributed solar, with centralized solar, wind and biomass reduced to a rounding error. That skew points to a registration wave driven by corporate self-generation economics rather than utility-scale buildout, which has different implications for grid balancing, storage demand and the industrial power market than a conventional renewables tally would suggest. Whether this C&I-dominated mix persists in coming monthly registrations is the open question.
