China’s First Large-Scale 18 MW Offshore Wind Project Fully Operational

TREE NEWS update: China’s first offshore wind project to deploy 18 MW turbines at scale reached full-capacity operation on Sept. 24. The CGN Guangdong Yangjiang Fanshi 2 GW project comprises two million-kilowatt-class sub-projects, including 33 of the 18 MW turbines, the largest single-unit model in domestic batch deployment. Their 292-metre rotors sweep about 66,000 square metres, and scale deployment cuts the number of turbine positions, subsea cable laying, foundation work and sea-area costs.
