WeChat Pay Launches TenPayGo App for Foreign Visitors to China

The significance lies less in another payment app than in the bundling: email-based onboarding, international cards, overseas wallets and Apple Pay in one place, which attacks the onboarding friction that has long kept inbound visitors off China's dominant payment rails. It matters most to merchants and payment providers serving foreign traffic, and to the wallet partners whose reach into China this formalizes. The open question is whether this pulls visitors toward a standalone app rather than into WeChat itself, and whether foreign-card and wallet coverage keeps expanding beyond the current partners.
