The significance here is less about Nethermind's own bridge choice than about the signalling value of a core Ethereum development team picking one interoperability standard over another. That matters to the projects and users who follow core contributors' technical preferences when selecting cross-chain infrastructure. Whether this remains an isolated decision or reflects a broader consolidation around CCIP within the Ethereum ecosystem is the open question.
