LG Chem, Jianghua Micro Sign MOU to Develop High-Purity IPA for Chip Cleaning

The tie-up is less about the chemical than about vertical integration: LG Chem pushes its C3-IPA feedstock downstream into a finished semiconductor-grade product it does not currently make for the Chinese market, while Jianghua gains a secured input. It matters because HP-IPA sits in the consumables chain tied to fab utilisation, so this is a bet on local chipmaking demand rather than a standalone product launch. As an MOU, it is non-binding, and whether it converts into actual HP-IPA output and qualification with chipmakers is the open question.
