TREE NEWS update: A magnitude 4.9 earthquake struck southern Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, at 4:45 a.m. local time on September 29, with a maximum seismic intensity of 4 on Japan’s scale, the Japan Meteorological Agency said. The epicenter was at a depth of 50 kilometers, and shaking was clearly felt in Tokyo.
