TREE NEWS reports: Spot gold rose 1.39% to $4,389.36/oz at New York close Wednesday, approaching $4,400 after a W-shaped session that bottomed around 20:00 Beijing time. Silver gained 1.97% to $65.3440/oz. The Philadelphia Gold and Silver Index jumped 3% to 403.57, and the NYSE Arca Gold Miners Index added 1.91% to 2,794.88. State Street’s metals and mining ETF rose 3.23%.
