Typhoon Shadel forces Fujian coastal cities to suspend work, classes

TREE NEWS update: Typhoon Shadel (18th of the year) made its third landfall near Gulei, Zhangpu County, Zhangzhou, Fujian, at about 6:30 a.m. on Sept. 3. In response, Zhangpu, Zhao’an, and Dongshan counties have initiated a ‘three stops and one suspension’ (stop work, production, classes, and markets). Additionally, all schools and training institutions in Fuzhou and Quanzhou have suspended classes. Ferry services in Xiamen, including the Xiamen-Jinmen and Quanzhou-Jinmen routes, have been halted from Sept. 3.
