Kremlin: Putin to Meet US Envoys Witkoff and Kushner on Saturday

This direct meeting between a sitting US president's son-in-law and a Russian head of state is a significant, albeit informal, channel of communication that bypasses traditional diplomatic structures. It signals that high-level backchannel negotiations are active, which could affect market sentiment around geopolitical risk premiums, particularly in energy and European assets. The substance of the talks is undisclosed, so whether this leads to any tangible policy shifts or remains a symbolic gesture is the open question.
