TREE NEWS update: Chilean crypto exchange Orionx has ceased operations and suspended withdrawals after a forensic audit revealed over $7 million in custodial assets were transferred to wallets outside its control. The exchange accused co-founders Joaquín Díaz and Roberto Zibert, along with other former employees, of involvement in transactions between 2018 and 2021, and filed a complaint with Chilean prosecutors. The CMF noted Orionx was not authorized to offer crypto services under the Fintech Law. Orionx said it cannot guarantee full recovery of user funds.
